Matt Lutz is a native of Indiana, and was raised in Arizona and North Carolina.

His film credits include the role of Clay Gephardt in Warner Brothers' hit A WALK TO REMEMBER opposite Mandy Moore and Shane West, Aaron in Disney's BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE opposite Steve Martin and Queen Latifah, and the indie film END OF THE SPEAR, the filming of which took Matt into the jungles of Central and South America.  Matt filmed his first starring role in summer 2008 in the upcoming independent feature film PORT CITY.

Matt's numerous television credits include his well-known role, Phil Newberry, the eager defense attorney, in the Hallmark Channel series McBRIDE, opposite five-time Emmy® winner, John Larroquette. Matt has also been seen in a recurring role on the hit teen drama DAWSON'S CREEK. More recently, he was seen again on the CW Network in Aaron Spelling's 7TH HEAVEN. Matt's role as shiftless boyfriend Paul Bellows in the Oprah Winfrey-produced ABC movie-of-the-week AMY & ISABELLE put him alongside Oscar® nominee Elisabeth Shue. However, Matt's stand-out role as Gene Wirth, a young mentally-handicapped man in The Hallmark Channel's original movie, MURDER WITHOUT CONVICTION has turned many heads in his direction. Other stand-out television roles include an in-the-closet teen on BOSTON PUBLIC, an out-of-control frat guy on NBC's LAS VEGAS, and a Southern bully on the short lived UPN drama LEGACY.

The stage is also no new adventure for Lutz. Included among his myriad theater credits are leading roles in THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, THE MOST HAPPY FELLA, HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, SHOW BOAT, TICK...TICK...BOOM!, and, most recently, 1776 and INTO THE WOODS with Actors Co-op in Hollywood, CA. Lutz lives with his wife, actress and writer Christy Hall, in both Los Angeles and New York City.
